Launch Day August 2026

Montabi 1.0 went live August 6, 2026—the creature-collector roguelike deckbuilder from Mankibo, published by Akupara Games, that fans tracked from Steam Next Fest (June 2026) and the July 2026 Devlog through final polish. This launch snapshot documents what shipped on day one, what it costs, where to buy, and how this wiki will mirror official patch notes without replacing Steam or publisher channels.

For pre-release demo context, read Next Fest June 2026 and the Steam Demo page. For buyer details, see Platforms and the fan Review.

Deluxe edition extras

The Deluxe bundle adds premium extras beyond the base game:

  • 150+ page digital artbook (Steam companion app 4946140)
  • 22-track original soundtrack (Steam companion app 4946090)

Deluxe does not change combat rules—it is a collector package for fans who want art and music alongside the roguelike loop.

What shipped in 1.0

Combat and map: Full city roguelike route across three city areas—not the truncated Subway Station demo slice. Stickards, Cafe healing (including heal-or-double-level choices), shops, elites that grant three level-ups versus two on normal fights, and boss gates match preview promises with tuning from Next Fest and July balance passes.

Card and item volume: 570+ cards and 200+ items at launch give Ascension climbers enough variance for long-term routes. Track discoveries in Montapedia and Items.

Meta: Montapedia compendium, rank unlocks for alternate trainers, Items layers (Equipment, Charms, Supplies, Stickards).

Accessibility (Steam tags): Full controller support, mouse-only option, adjustable difficulty, custom volume, save anytime, playable without timed input.

Languages (nine at launch): English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Indonesian.

Day-one player expectations

Roguelike launches ship hot:

  • Balance —starter and evolution lines may over/underperform until analytics arrive
  • ClarityFlavor and Resonance tooltips may need text patches
  • Stability —edge-case softlocks on rare event nodes; expect quick hotfixes
  • Achievements —hidden trio (Plot Twist, Top Of The Food Chain, Master Trainer) will take weeks for guides to decode

Document your runs with the Getting Started checklist before blaming RNG.

Where patch notes will appear

Primary sources:

This wiki: Summaries on the Updates hub and child articles like this one. We edit JSON sources, run npm run sync, and regenerate MDX—never hand-patch generated docs. When a patch changes biscuits or Cafe prices, expect edits on Guides, Tier List, and Items within days.

PC requirements reminder

Launch specs stay modest—512 MB storage, GTX 550 Ti class minimum GPU on Windows. See System Requirements for full tables including macOS Metal notes.

Post-launch roadmap (expectations only)

Mankibo has not promised live-service seasons at launch. Reasonable expectations:

  • Week 1 —crash fixes, typo patches, economy tuning
  • Month 1 —balance based on win-rate data; possible QoL for map UI
  • Future —watch official channels for DLC or Switch 2-specific updates

Speculation belongs on forums; this page updates when notes are public.

First steps after install

  1. Getting Started —learn Trainer death rules
  2. Controls —bind inputs
  3. Platforms —confirm demo uninstall if upgrading
  4. Review —set expectations for difficulty
  5. Updates hub —bookmark for hotfixes

Launch day is node zero. The map ahead is patches, Montapedia completion, and 22 achievement hunts—logged here as they happen.
